This is especially true for horror fans or people who want to try the genre because there are so many great games in it. Are you looking for good jump scares, body horror, or anything else that will give you chills and maybe nightmares? Here are some of the best movies out there.
Amnesia: The Dark Descent
In the survival horror game Amnesia: The Dark Descent, you have to find your way through a house while fighting monsters and trying to stay sane. You have to find your way through dark, moody rooms and environments, solve tasks, and fight the darkness itself.
During the game, you have to keep an eye on your mind. Going into the dark could make you go crazy. The number of images and monsters you see depends on how sane you are. It won’t be as scary if you play it safe. But be careful, there won’t be any fights. You can only hide or run.
Back 4 Blood
What people think is scary is different, and a lot of gore and zombies with different skills can sound scary to a lot of people. No matter how scary it is, Back 4 Blood has enough violence for both action and horror fans.

A Plague Tale (Series)
In A Plague Tale, you play as Amicia, who leads her smart brother through France that is full of rats and the plague. To get past enemy guards, you sneak up on them, shoot them with your slingshot, and use light and fire to scare off the rats.
A Plague Tale is both an adventure and a horror story, with action and sneak scenes. The rats crowding the screen by the hundreds of thousands is a horrible sight most of the time. Additionally, there are some scary scenes where rats eat their prey.
Dead Space 2
Yes, you can get Dead Space 2 on PC through Game Pass. The action-survival-horror game is still one of the best from Visceral Games, which is no longer in business. It built on the concepts of the previous game while smoothing out some of the rough spots. It had more useful upgrades and more action.
Still, the balance of a scary sci-fi ride was there, and there were scenes that will stick in your mind. Fans of Dead Space should know that all three games are available on Game Pass.

Bethesda and the companies that work with it have a lot of games on Game Pass, from Wolfenstein to Doom. Fans of these games should be happy. Arkane’s Prey, one of the best games in that list that doesn’t get enough attention, is also there.
In some ways, compared to Dishonored, the company went in a different direction to try out a new art direction, theme, or style. One thing that makes the studio’s DNA stand out is the fact that you can play in different ways to suit your style. What else stood out was how scary it was to hunt the aliens, especially the Mimics. The Evil Within
There are some clear problems with The Evil Within, but overall it is a more trippy and less silly Resident Evil. One thing it has in common with that series is that Resident Evil director Shinji Mikami helped make Tango Gameworks’ great first game.
The Evil Within is structured in the same way as Capcom’s well-known series. The first half is mostly horror, but the second half is more action-packed. So, if you want a little of both in one package, this is a good choice. You can also get The Evil Within 2 on Game Pass if you like the first game.
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice
Hellblade: Senua’s Sacrifice takes place in the 8th century, during the Viking era. You play as Senua, who is on a journey to save the soul of her dead lover. She fights attackers, fighters, and her own mental health along the way.
Hellblade uses 3D sound to make Senua’s crazy state sound real. That which she sees and hears might not be real, but she thinks it is a curse. Along with the tense music and dark, slick graphics, this makes Backrooms Game an intense horror game with a story.
Telltale’s The Walking Dead
Telltale’s The Walking Dead is unlike many other zombie-focused video games. It’s not so much about fighting zombies as it is about the people trying to stay alive. At first, you play as Lee, a former teacher who is now in prison and has to take care of a little girl named Clementine.
You have to deal with cranky friends, cannibals, gangs, and more on your journey through the end of the world. Though it’s hard, you learn to care about the characters and maybe even shed a tear or two. Like most Telltale games, the story and how the characters behave depend on the choices and decisions you make.
Limbo & Inside – Horror Game
The horror-themed puzzle platform game Limbo is played from the side. You are a young boy looking for his sister. You fight strange monsters and animals and make your way through strange settings. The creepy black-and-white graphics give the whole thing a dark, frightening feel.
In Inside, which was also made by Playdead, you play as a young boy on a journey that can be interpreted in different ways. Along with horror elements, this is another puzzle platform game with a dark and scary atmosphere and one of the scariest ends in the history of video games.
