Even for someone like Geralt of Rivia, it’s hard to hunt monsters. There are many magical beings in the world that can’t be talked to or traded with. They’d much rather destroy helpless towns and rip ordinary people apart, limb from limb. If the White Wolf wants to have a chance against these animals, he needs to be ready.
He’s lucky that The Witcher 3 has a lot of armor sets that make him very strong. Some of them are also very stylish, but as a monster criminals, being useful is more important than looking good. Also, how easy it is to get and use Geralt’s gear is important. So, these are the best sets with those things in mind.
Toussaint Armor
It’s up to you whether you think this armor set is beautiful or ugly. No matter how you feel about how it looks, it’s hard to argue against how well it works. The Relic version is especially strong against all kinds of damage, like slicing, cutting, and hitting.
It also gives the person who wears it a big boost in Vitality. But you can’t get the heavy suit without the Blood and Wine DLC, and it’s easy to miss during the Land of a Thousand Fables task.
Ofieri Armor
As part of the Hearts of Stone update, the fancy Ofieri armor is available. It doesn’t look like the most protective clothes, but it does protect against hitting and cutting pretty well. But that’s not the main benefit of this set; the main benefit is that it makes your Sign stronger.
Even though each piece is about a different Sign, they all get some kind of push. You will have to make all of the armor by hand, which is a pain, and it takes some work to find the plans. Still, the end is worth the work.
Temerian Armor
The Temerian armor set is also DLC, but this one is free. It’s meant to protect the person who wears it, making them stronger against a number of things. For instance, strikes that pierce, hit hard, slash, hit monsters, or use elements do less damage to someone wearing this armor.
The set won’t help you much near the end of The Witcher 3, but it’s still worth getting early on. You can buy it from Bram in White Orchard to do that.
Nilfgaardian Armor
People will always compare Netflix’s show to CD Projekt Red’s game, even if the comparisons aren’t quite right. There are so many ways to play The Witcher 3 that no two people will have the same experience. But a lot of people would say that The Witcher 3 did a better job with Nilfgaard armor.
You can become one of the Black Ones with this free DLC armor set. If you wear this set, your resistance to all kinds of damage will go up by a good amount. There are no attacking boosts in this set, though, so it’s best for players who have trouble avoiding attacks or want to play a Nilfgaardian supporter.
Skellige Armor (AKA Undvik Armor)
If you play The Witcher 3, the Skellige armor is called Undvik armor. It’s another free piece of DLC from CD Projekt Red. If the Skellige region charmed you with its beautiful islands, scary monsters, and interesting culture, this set of armor could show how much you love it.
The Skellige set mostly improves Geralt’s defense, just like the Nilfgaardian set did. In addition to being fun for role-playing, this set will help new Witchers learn how to fight when they are lower levels. People who play should really think of the Skellige set and the Nilfgardian set as training clothes. They’ll help you get started, but you’ll eventually trade them in for sets of armor that can do more.
Kaer Morhen Armor
Kaer Morhen is where most of the Witchers in the game hang out. This old castle was built by the School of the Wolf and is now home to many great and famous fighters. There is one of those people: Geralt of Rivia. He is called the White Wolf for a reason. He wears this beautiful piece of armor to show that he is part of the group.
From the beginning of The Witcher 3 on, Geralt wears Kaer Morhen’s chest armor. This chest piece made of medium-weight leather protects well against most types of damage. It looks great and is an important part of Geralt’s outfit. If you don’t improve it over time, the Kaer Morhen armor will quickly become less useful.
Viper Armor
The Viper Set is great because it looks a lot like Geralt’s famous Kaer Morhen armor, it makes the White Wolf much stronger, and it comes with two swords that are very useful in the late game of The Witcher 3. Hearts of Stone is the first big DLC for The Witcher 3, and you’ll need to play through it before you can get the Viper Set.
The only piece of gear in this set that you won’t have to make yourself is the Viper Venomous Silver Sword. To avoid giving away too much of Hearts of Stone, you’ll need to help Olgeird von Everec get it.
Assassin’s Armor Set
The Assassin armor set only has three pieces: the gauntlets, pants, and boots. There is no chest piece to go with them. The critical hit chance boost that the gauntlets provide is, however, very welcome.
The defensive boosts that the rest of the set gave are also pretty good. If you want to focus on Combat Skills, you need these gauntlets. You can either find them lying around or make them with little trouble.
The White Tiger Of The West Armor
In The Witcher 3, the White Tiger of the West Armor Set is a famous piece of armor that looks great and is very good at protecting you. This set of armor has a beautiful white tiger design that will make you and Geralt stand out on the battlefield.
The White Tiger of the West Armor set is the best choice if you want to mix style and function in your armor. It provides better protection and boosts your stats. It has been in Yennefer’s Room in Vizima since the next-gen update was put in place. If you want to look good on the battlefield, don’t just fly past the chest under the window where it is. They have it.
Dol Blathanna Armor
The Dol Blathanna Armor set is a beautiful piece of armor that is also very useful in battle. This armor set is known for its detailed elf design and craftsmanship. It protects you very well and gives you extra benefits in battle.
The Dol Blathanna Armor set is a great choice if you like the way elf things look and want to make Geralt better at fighting. It’s right under your nose in Vizima, just like The White Tiger of the West Armor Set.
Griffin School Armor Set
Scholars and witches always wear the Griffin armor set. This middle set not only has great protection to elements, but it also makes Signs much stronger!
Players can use other builds besides pure Sign builds, but they don’t work as well as the others. When The Witcher 3 gets harder, you’ll probably need to mix pieces from different sets of armor to make a build that works. Still, you need the Griffin armor if you want to use Signs more often.
Toussaint Knight’s Tourney Armor (Crafted)
As a Witcher, Geralt likes to wear armor that makes him light and strong. Most of the time, the White Wolf doesn’t wear heavy armor that could slow him down on the job. On the other hand, Geralt will sometimes put on a strong piece of plate mail armor when he needs to fight a really tough enemy.
Speed and energy are lost when you wear the Toussaint Knight Tourney armor, but it has high defense stats. Plus, this set of armor looks really cool. You can also settle for a different form of this set if you can’t find this one.
Tesham Mutna Armor
The Tesham Mutna Armor Set, on the other hand, is part of Blood and Wine, the second big DLC for The Witcher 3. Blood and Wine is about vampires and rich people, as the name suggests. These two ideas are summed up by the Tesham Mutna Armor set, which is a fancy set of knight armor that attacks Geralt’s enemies.

You will likely wear the Manticore armor until you can make a more specialized set, if you can get your hands on it.
Wolf School Armor Set
The Witchers of Kaer Morhen like the Wolven armor because it looks like the armor Eskel wears in The Witcher 3. If you want to make an Adrenaline build, you should get this set right away!
To be more exact, players will need to get all of the sketches for the armor in this set. Putting this set together will take a lot of time and money, but it’s well worth it. The best part is that once you get New Game Plus, you can make the Legendary versions of this armor!
Ursine School Armor Set
Geralt’s suit gets tougher and more rugged every time you improve the Ursine set. In its last stages, the Ursine armor will make Geralt look like a heavily armored monster.
By just looking at it, you can tell that the Ursine armor is a big, strong suit for defense. But you can also use this set to make Grenades and Potions. You can make Geralt drink elixirs and throw bombs like the Green Goblin if you have the right skills. When this set is finished, it also makes Quen 200 percent stronger!
Feline School Gear Set
This set is perfect for people who love cats. Not only does the Feline armor look great, but it also makes Geralt much better at fighting! It’s necessary to have this suit if you want to build around Critical Chance and Critical Damage.
When Geralt of Rivia puts on the Feline armor, he turns into a silver and steel tornado. For the first few hours of a game, many experienced Witcher 3 players say it’s a must to play on Death March challenge. As the story goes, Geralt is very good at close fighting, which is why he uses the Feline armor so much. The best part is that you don’t need any DLC to begin making it!
Grandmaster Legendary Forgotten Wolven Gear
The Grandmaster Legendary Forgotten Wolven Gear is a great set of armor for players who want to play in a fair and strong way. This famous set has amazing stats that help Geralt do well in both battle and travel.
The Grandmaster Legendary Forgotten Wolven Gear’s sleek form also shows that Geralt is an experienced Witcher, giving off an air of power and knowledge. To get this amazing set of armor, you’ll need to do the “Master Master Master Master!” side quest in Toussaint and find the models.
Grandmaster Wolven Armor
If you’re a huge fan of The Witcher 3 and haven’t played the Blood and Wine update yet, you might want to just for the Grandmaster armor sets. Of course, you should also buy it for the story and the interesting new places you’ll visit. The Grandmaster sets are better versions of the different Witcher School armors. To be exact, the Griffin, Ursine, Feline, Wolven, and Manticore sets are what I mean.
All of these armor sets are great on their own, but the Grandmaster Wolven set is our favorite. It’s a must-have for anyone who wants to run a Combat and Sign Hybrid build. The Grandmaster Wolven set will be the core of one of the best, most useful, and most fun builds in the game if you use your points wisely.
