Genshin Impact came out in September 2020, and many players and critics called it a “Breath of the Wild clone” without any good reason. There were some similarities between the two games that couldn’t be denied, but Genshin’s unique features and ways of playing definitely deserve some praise.
An interesting thing about Genshin Impact is that it has element-based fighting and different characters with their own elemental skills and powers. These add a lot of variety to the game and make the systems behind it much deeper and more complicated than they seem at first.
The fighting system in Genshin Impact is easy to understand but very hard to learn. It has seven different parts that can all work together in different and harmful ways. Some of the most useful and powerful characters in the game can be found in Hydro, which is one of the most overlooked parts of the game.
Hydro Traveler

Even though the Hydro Traveler is a free character, it might not live up to the high standards set by some of the new Hydro characters. When it comes to efficiency, the Hydro Traveler isn’t as good as their Dendro cousin, who is a good F2P option for other Dendro characters. Being a Sub-DPS character is best for the Hydro Traveler, but their low damage factor makes this job less viable.
They can join certain teams, like a Bloom team with characters like Nilou, because their extra constellations give them access to some useful assistance skills. This set-up only lets the team use Hydro resonance and a few support skills. It doesn’t give them much else. This is mostly because Hydro Traveler doesn’t have as many Hydro application options as other characters, which makes them less useful overall. There are many times when other Hydro characters, even some 4-star ones, can do things better than the Hydro Traveler. This makes the Hydro Traveler less useful and important in the current meta of the game.
Candace

In the Genshin Impact 3.1 release for Hydro, Candace is one of the newest characters to be added. Since she is a secondary character, she brings a lot of strong skills to the table, which makes her fun to have on the team. Her best skill is her Elemental Burst, which makes other party members’ Elemental Normal Attacks stronger. She also has a strong shield and a block system that works like Beidou’s and can help protect the team from harm. With Elemental Burst, she can do a lot of extra damage, and at sixth sign, she can be a great off-field Sub-DPS.
She does, however, have some major flaws that make other Hydro units rank higher than her. Compared to other characters, her buff isn’t very good, and she doesn’t make a lot of Elemental Particles, which makes it hard to use her best ability, Elemental Burst. Also, the Hydro injection from Elemental Burst can be bad for some team combinations.
Barbara

She is the Deaconess of the Church of Favonius in the stories of Genshin Impact. In the city of Mondstadt, she is a well-liked character who offers help and support to anyone who needs it. A lot of characters in the game talk about how kind and dedicated she is to the city as a whole as well as the Knights of Favonius. She wants to help Jean more than anything else she can because she is her younger sister.
Combat is not at all what Barbara is good at. Her standard move is to shoot water drops at foes, which do some damage to even the smallest ones. As for her Elemental Skill, she can make a water shield spin around her that heals her and her friends over time. Players should be aware, though, that this skill also makes the current character wet, which could be annoying if they are already wet from another effect. Since this skill has a very short range, she also doesn’t do a great job with Hydro.
Barbara isn’t very good at fighting, but that doesn’t make her useless. The Shining Miracle is her very useful Elemental Burst that heals more than half of the party’s HP right away. She can even bring a team member back to life if they have her sixth sign. Every group needs a healer just as much as they need a DPS. Barbara isn’t as good as some other characters because she can’t do as many things and doesn’t have as many extra benefits.
Mona

The character Mona is pretty strange. She is a very smart and honest woman who works as an astrologer, which seems to be a real job in the world of Genshin Impact. Because she is honest, other astrologers don’t like her, so she does most of her studies by herself. A lot of things can be said about how smart she is, but she’s not very good at business and often has money troubles.
As one of the four five-star Hydro characters in the game, Mona’s fighting skills are naturally very strong. This is her normal move, Ripple of Fate. It splashes water at enemies, just like Barbara’s, but her hits are much stronger than Barbara’s.
Mirror Reflection of Doom is Mona’s Elemental Skill name. It lets her trick foes by making Phantoms that explode and do a lot of damage. Finally, Mona’s Stellaris Phantasm Elemental Burst lets players catch enemies in fake bubbles that make them vulnerable to extra damage and stop them from moving. In general, players see her in demos that show off how well she can buff burst damage. But besides that, she’s mostly used in freeze teams. With Dendro added, she can also be used in bloom teams. Though, because she isn’t as good at applying Hydro than many other characters, she hasn’t been as famous lately.
Nilou

Many people love Nilou, a stylish dancer at the Zubayr Theater, because she is friendly, takes part in the Archon quest, and has her own unique way of playing the role. Her work shows how much she loves dance, and her excitement during the Archon quest is contagious. She definitely has a unique way of playing. She is a sub-DPS character who focuses on Bloom reactions. Her Bountiful Cores, a special kind of Dendro core she can make, can do a lot of AOE damage. Her second symbol can also weaken enemies by making them less resistant to Hydro and Dendro. She can be used in different ways depending on how her Elemental Skill is applied.
When Nilou’s Bountiful Cores are made, they can only be used when the team is made up of Dendro and Hydro units. This is an important ability limitation. However, this can be both good and bad because the cores’ area-of-effect damage can do a lot of damage to enemies and put the team at risk if they don’t have a medic. This makes Ninou a special character because there aren’t many Dendro characters or medics who are good for her.
Tartaglia

Childe, a name Tartaglia also goes by, is a great addition to any group that needs a Hydro main DPS character. She is from Sheznaya. He does a lot of damage, and players can choose between Ayato and Childe for this reason, based on which character they like better. His main move is a bow shot from a distance, and he can do up to six hits in a row.
Any move he makes with his Elemental Skill turns into a Hydro DMG hit with the added effect of a very strong Riptide. As Tartaglia’s Elemental Burst, Obliteration, can cause havoc, it can look three different ways. There is the Flash of Havoc ability, which fires an arrow filled with Hydro; the Light of Obliteration ability, which cuts all enemies in range and applies the Riptide effect to all of them; and finally, the Riptide Blast ability, which blows up enemies that are affected by the Riptide effect. He can also be very helpful in responses involving the Dendro Element.
Kamisato Ayato

It was Kamisato Ayato’s release in version 2.6 that caused the most trouble in the Hydro order since Tartaglia’s release in version 1.1. Ayato has become the best Hydro DPS character because she is a natural DPS and her moves hit hard and quickly. Kamisato Ayato can be used as both a DPS and a support character in Genshin Impact.
Kamisato Ayato uses an elemental skill that lets him do several quick Hydro cuts and an elemental burst that makes a cool AoE that works well for passive uses. One of Kamisato Ayato’s skills is Kamisato Art: Kyouka, which lets him use up to 15 Hydro cuts instead of his standard move. These give you an image that explodes and greatly increase attack damage and speed.
Ayato makes a garden of purity on the elemental burst side that rains down Hydro-infused damage blades, just like Ganyu’s elemental burst does. Ayato’s burst does damage and applies Hydro, but it also makes everyone in the zone stronger when they hit normally. This means that Ayato can join any team that needs Hydro Element.
Yelan

Yelan is a Hydro bow character that is right above Childe, but her play style is very different from Childe’s. Her elemental skill makes Geometry Dash Subzero faster by adding a fast-sprint, which lets players dig much faster. In addition, this skill makes a string that Yelan can tie around foes to do a lot of damage with Hydro damage.
Overall, her skill is a great way to fill in for Main DPS characters when they’re not doing anything. Her Elemental Burst stands out because it does a lot of Hydro damage when used with an Active character’s regular move and also applies Hydro. She works really well with the Vaporize and Bloom teams, but she is a great unit that can be used with any team. To be as useful as possible, she might need a few stars to fix her flaws, like how slowly she recovers energy and how her burst sometimes applies Hydro incorrectly.
Xingqiu

Xingqiu is a 4-star character with a lot of different uses. She has been a mainstay on many teams and often takes the place of 5-star characters. His Elemental Skill makes rain swords appear around him. These swords protect him and deal Hydro damage to enemies. Whenever the current character gets damage, a rain sword will break, reducing the damage taken. This skill also makes the character less easily interrupted.
Xingqiu’s Elemental Burst is a very powerful move that is a lot like Yelan’s burst. When this attack is used, rain swords appear and hit the current character with their standard moves. These moves don’t do as much damage as Yelan’s, but Xingqui’s Hydro application is more reliable, and his idle skill will also heal the main character a little after the rain swords end. He’s also a 4-star character, which makes it easier to get constellations for him. These constellations lower foes’ Hydro protection, which makes the swords do even more damage. He is the best 4-star Hydro character because he is the most useful and flexible and also because he is pretty easy to build.
Sangonomiya Kokomi

Kokomi Sangonomiya, the head priestess of Watatsumi Island, is known in the story as the smart leader of the Resistance against the Inazuma Shogunate. But for people who use Hydro, Kokomi is more than just a plan. She is a great healer, a good Hydro user, and a character with few major flaws.
By no means does this mean that Kokomi has no problems, though. Kokomi does have a passive that heals her and lowers her critical hit rate, but players shouldn’t expect to be able to use her as a critical hit DPS any time soon. Kokomi does make up for it a bit, though, thanks to her passives and elemental burst. While Nereid is in her elemental burst, “Ascension,” her attack and healing go up by a percentage based on her HP. Her 4th passive makes these effects even stronger by using her Healing Bonus.
As a mix of support and healing, Kokomi is the best at what she does. The bake-kurage that Kokomi’s elemental skill, Kurage’s Oath, summons heals close friends and strikes enemies. So, Sangonomiya Kokomi can use her Hydro state and heal with her skill at the same time. Her elemental burst will also make her stronger overall. Now that Bloom is part of the Elemental Reaction, Kokomi is used a lot more in team combinations.
Neuvillette

Neuvillette is presented to players as the Iudex of Fontaine, but he has many other jobs as well. He is a key character in the Fontaine Archon quest and has a lot of power in the game’s story and gameplay. A strong water beam is sent out by these charged strikes, killing any enemies that get in its way. Neuvillette is currently the best Hydro DPS character when built properly, beating out Ayato and Tartaglia. This is because his charged move is simple and easy to use. Neuvillette can also get a lot out of Hydro Resonance because his effects increase with his HP and he can heal himself and take HP. He works well with a lot of different types of teams that depend on different chemical responses. This makes him a great choice for players who want to make their groups more interesting. Taking everything into account, Neuvillette is a strong and unique DPS character who makes playing games fun and new, which is why he deserves to be at the top.
Furina
